According to today’s report in mediabistro, Hillary’s communications director, Howard Wolfson may soon be out the door, replaced by Bill Clinton’s former advisor, Ann Lewis.
All this because the “attack mode” mindset of Wolfson and others in Hillary’s camp lured them into over-reacting to David Geffen’s pointless comments to Maureen Dowd about Bill and Hillary.
Yes, Hillary needs to react promptly when she is attacked, but this Obama-Geffen tantrum only feeds into the “Hillary the Dominatrix” caricature that conservatives are so fond of creating. Worse, it supports the “healer” image that Obama has been trying to develop with voters. After all, he didn’t start this fight. You can blame Geffen, you can blame Wolfson, but you can’t blame Obama.
