Mike Barnicle

Now that MSNBC has dropped the simulcast of the Imus show, the network might find its situation has only gotten worse.

According to Howie Carr, a radio talk-show host on WRKO in Boston, the replacement for Imus for the next two weeks has a history of making racially charged comments.

Mike Barnicle, a former reporter and columnist for the Boston Globe, reportedly used the “n-word” in a story published in the Globe. Barnicle was eventually fired from the Globe for supposedly fabricating quotes and facts for his columns.

More information about Barnicle can be found on the Howie Carr web site. A recent Boston Herald column by Carr about the Imus situation can be found here.
