A Rake’s Progress

Anti-Hillary Video Maker Lived With Obama Press Secretary

March 25, 2007 · No Comments

ABC News is reporting that the creator of the controversial anti-Hillary Clinton video referred to as the “1984 video,” lived with Barak Obama’s press secretary while working on the Senate campaign for Sherrod Brown.

“Ben LaBolt, the recently named press secretary of Obama’s Senate office in Washington, D.C., roomed with Philip de Vellis, the creator of the “1984″ ad, in Ohio last year while the two worked together on the successful Senate campaign of then Rep. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio.”

The revelation suggests that Obama’s campaign was not as distant from de Vellis and the tasteless video as Obama wanted voters to believe.  Blue State Digital, which works for Obama, eventually fired de Vellis.
